Ritalin Addiction
Ritalin is a central nervous system stimulant used in disorders such as ADHD, ADD and narcolepsy. Ritalin has become the most common drug treatment for ADD and ADHD.
Ritalin addiction has become more widespread in recent years as more and more people are being prescribed Ritalin. Ritalin addiction symptoms involve higher tha normal doses, mood swings, restlessness, disorientation, anxiety, panic, and/or aggression.
Ritalin addiction withdrawal is usually the same as amphetamine withdrawal and consists of:
- Fatigue
- Vivid, unpleasant dreams
- Insomnia or Hypersomnia
- Increased appetite
- Psychomotor retardation
As more and more people become prone to Ritalin addiction, the more awareness is needed to combat its societal surge. Of course one must note that for many people Ritalin serves a helpful purpose and one shouldn’t disparage friends and family from using it if it is being done in a careful manner.
